Star Reloaders / Re: 7.9x33 question
« on: February 01, 2013, 11:49:20 am »
Greetings,

The bottle-neck case is not suited for sizing on the Star, in my opinion. One could size the brass on a single stage press, then run it through the Star for priming, powder dispensing, seating, and crimping.

I do not see SAAMI drawings for the 7.9x33 cartridge.

Modifying existing dies or machining new ones from scratch would take some thought.

Cheers,

Dave

Stars Want to Sell/Want to Buy / Re: (WTB) STAR STRAIGHTLINE PARTS

Greetings,

If I had some "go by" parts, I could probably machine some of the missing parts to get this classic machine back to original.

I would surely like to see some photos of a straightline Star press. I have only heard of, not seen, them.

Cheers,

Dave

Star Reloaders / Seeking the advice from a Commercial Electrician

Greetings,

In the process of machining replica Star parts I rely on my three phase power generator to run my machine tools.

I would like to install a three phase jack so I can plug in lesser used equipment as needed.

I seek council on which NEMA plugs and receptacles to purchase. Along with a suitable surface mounted box to house the receptacle.

20 amps 240 volt would be the load desired.

Perhaps this individual has surplus parts??? I know a guy that could supply replica Star parts as barter.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

I can machine a set of replica dies for the Star.

Check with Richard Daniels "barrel tester" to see if he has any shell plates remaining.

Cheers,

Dave

Star Reloaders / Computer Crash - Dave Wilson
« on: January 05, 2013, 12:05:28 pm »
Greetings All,

My main computer has crashed. I am hoping to restore all the emails I received from folks wanting dies.

My immediate concern are Tim Vaitakonos, Robert Korvosa, "Spec", and Ed Nixon.

If those folks are reading this, please send me a personal message to the Starreloaders website.

Many thanks,

Dave

Greetings,

I can make the dies and expander for you should you be unable to locate a set from a Forum Member.

Richard Daniels might have some 9mm shell plates remaining. Look up userID "Barrel Tester".

Dave

Greetings,

I have never talked with Mr. Cunningham via telephone. I did buy two 5/8" powder housings from him. I just sent a check to his address with my parts request. A few weeks later, I received my parts with a note to send more money as I was working from an outdated parts list.

I took a chance that my money would be received and my parts sent to me. Mr. Cunningham did not let me down.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings,

Congratulations on a fine addition to your tool kit.

If you did not get the proper die puller with you machine, there are some available on eBay occasionally.

Cheers,

Dave

Greetings Marty,

Sounds like one machine is ready to go in 38 Special.

The other machine with the 30 Carbine dies is most likely a Universal machine. You should be able to trade the 30 Carbine dies and shell plate for a 45 ACP setup with one of the Forum Members.

Actually, I have a 45 ACP set up I might be willing to swap with you.

Better check your spare parts. You will need the large primer punch and bushing and large primer feed tube and pickup tube.

Send me an email if interested.

Cheers,

Dave

Star Reloaders / Re: Modify for Auto Eject???
« on: November 24, 2012, 12:26:34 pm »
Greetings Bob,

Thanks for the added info.

The modification I have does work and the finished cartridges spill out onto the table.

Since I load my ammo for testing barrels I place each round in a storage box after crimping using my fingers.

Cheers,

Dave
